Companionship

Guinea pigs are highly social animals and in the wild live in large herds meaning their need for companionship is essential. Ensuring that your piggy always has a friend will keep them happy, provide them with the ultimate entertainment and ultimately make them healthier.

Your guinea pigs can be kept in pairs, trios, quads, herds... whatever your space allows! Pairing the guinea pigs can be a delicate procedure as piggies, just like people, have their own personalities and don't always get along. Any reputable shelter will encourage you to bring your guinea pig along to the shelter and do some trials to find them a friend that they truly get along with.

If you have a single guinea pig that needs a friend, please click here to complete our adoption form.
